Cigar Aficionados first glimpsed this cigar when it was distributed at the 14th annual cigar festival in Havana earlier this year. Described as a "maravillas No.3" or robusto extra this 55 ring gauge 6.18 inch cigar is a real treat for Montecristo fans. Having smoked a couple of cigars since their U.K. release I am very impressed with its overall refinement and would say it is the best offering from Montecristo since the 2008 Sublimes.

The traditional maduro wrappers are a pleasingly dark shade and yet smooth to touch. The construction is excellent with the resultant combustion near faultless. Generally it is hard to achieve such a balance between flavour, strength and effect in such a large cigar, But I have to say, speaking as one who is not a die hard Montecristo devotee, that I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar on each occasion. Great size and delicious flavour. The best Montecristo for quite some time ! RECOMMENDED !

"An excellent, well balanced Corona Gorda with typical Partagas aroma and flavour allied to excellent combustion. Finally we see the release of a truly excellent cigar within this format from Partagas. Neither the original Partagas D3 from 2001 nor the subsequent reprise of the same cigar in 2006 quite hit the mark. Prices for aged cigars dating from both releases have not reached expectations. But two years ago the Serie D Especial, with its larger ring gauge, hinted at the potential for this vitola. This years offering in the form of the Serie C No.3 is certainly the best example thus far. Recommended. "

This Edición Limitada commemorates the 45th anniversary of Cohiba, the flagship brand of Habanos, with an unique format specially selected for this occasion. These 10 Habanos have been made totally by hand using a selection of tobacco leaves from the plantations of San Juan y Martínez and San Luis in the Vuelta Abajo zone, Cuba, aged for a minimum of two years.

I would have liked to have seen this new cigar come in boxes of 25 rather than just 10 cigars but the latest Regional Edition to be made for the U.K has fortunately been produced in double the quantity normally reserved for exclusive single market release ! This pocket torpedo will not disappoint fans of the marque and may well improve with age. But whether it has the impact, balance and flavour of the original 2007 Belicosos Finos is difficult to discern at this early stage. It has a rich, earthy almost caramel taste, burns evenly and develops a fuller flavour quite quickly finishing on an intense high note. Iam just pleased that Cuba has produced a decent cigar to eradicate the memory of the non descript Ramon Allones "Extra" Limited Edition from 2011? Recommended.

In September 2012 we received the first of two new Regional Speciality exclusive to the U.K.originally intended for 2011. The Bolivar Britanicas is 5.38 inches long with a 48 ring gauge and is essentially a " Perfecto" shaped cigar redolent of the former Romeo Y Julietas Celestiales which was discontinued back in 2002.

Bolivar are among the fullest-bodied and richest tasting of all Havanas with a distinctive flavour that is evident not from a predominance of ligero leaf, but because more seco than volado is used in the blend in comparison to, say, Partagas.

I found the cigar to be full flavour and yet not overtly strong with a wider aperture at the foot than is customary for cigars of this type, which makes it easier to light up and get going.

Only 3,000 numbered boxes of 10 cigars have been rolled. Each is adorned with a reprint of a special label, known as a "papeleta", which was last used on Bolivar boxes over forty years ago, to wrap over the side of the box.

This is a real Collectors item which will no doubt sell very quickly ! So place your orders soon so as to avoid disappointment.

This cigar is a more full-bodied creation and is consistent with being the preferred vitola of true cigar aficionados. The taste is typical of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Rich and yet perfectly smooth with a dark, oily wrapper. A well made cigar which lingers on the palate creating a appealling aftertaste.
