Macanudo
Originally founded in 1868 when a few Cuban cigar makers, who had moved to Jamaica, began specialising in fine cigars that would appeal to the British market.
Macanudo 1968 boasts a bold new taste that perfectly balances the cigar's fuller-bodied tobaccos.
Aged in tercios and charcoaled wooden barrels to further enrich its flavours, the blend marries Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco to a proprietary filler cultivated exclusively for General Cigars on the remote island of Ometepe. These tobaccos were developed expressly to complement the Connecticut Habano binder and flawless Honduran San Agustin wrapper.
This four-cigar collection of Macanudo is named to commemorate 1968, the year that General Cigar purchased the Temple Hall factory in Jamaica. It was in that same year that Cigar Master Ramón Cifuentes began developing Macanudo, which was ultimately released in the U.S. in 1971. Since then Macanudo has been noted for its quality and consistency, the hallmarks that have earned the brand its lofty position as one of the best-selling cigars in the world
Blended with the finest double-fermented, Dominican Cuban seed tobaccos, surrounded by a velvety, ebony-colored Connecticut broadleaf, they offer a medium-bodied yet exceptionally smooth smoke. You may never go back to a natural wrapper again!
