Por Larrañaga Magnifico. U.K. Regional Speciality for 2007 / Box of 25 NEW !
Ref: 0999
6.75" Ring Gauge: 50
For many aficionados this cigar is a real treat having been made exclusively for the U.K.market and available in only 1400 numbered boxes. The "Magnifico" echoes the once renowned " Magnum" - a holy grail for cigar enthusiasts in the 60's and 70's.
Despite its provenance this is a relatively mild cigar which has been well made and constructed. I quite liked the size and fragrance but didn't care for the dry and rather bitter after-taste due to its comparative lack of age which should diminish with time.
Romeo y Julieta Escudos - Limited Edition 2007 / Box of 25

The Escudo is a large Robusto size the tobacco leaves for which have been specially aged in bales for a minimum of 2 years. A review of how it smokes will be posted in the review section shortly.
Hoyo de Monterrey Regalos - Limited Edition 2007 / Box of 25

The tobacco leaves for these cigars including wrapper, binder and filler have been specially aged in bales for a minimum of 2 years. Sold in an attractive slide lid wooden boxes the cigar is a small corona gorda in length. It is too early to say what character the new cigar may have but if it is as good as the previous Epicure Especiales from 2004 we are
A totally new and unique size for Cohiba, the Genios provides a rich, complex, smoke akin to the recent 2006 Limited Edition Piramides. The five year old dark maduro wrapper imparts a toasted, vaguely sweet aftertaste as it builds in intensity. Probably requires more time to develop its unusual and very distinct character but certainly worth smoking while fresh from Cuba. Buy now as stocks are unlikely to satisfy demand !
Following the trend for short, fat mini robusto style smokes the new Cohiba Magicos is a welcome addition to the Cohiba range of cigars. Similar in size to the recently launched Montecristo Petit Edmundo and Hoyo Petit Robusto. The cigar burns slowly and draws well forming an attractive white ash in contrast to the dark wrapper. Perfect short smoke to enjoy outdoors during the Summer.

Powerful, rich and complex with a textbook white ash. A deceptively strong small cigar that underpins the new range of Maduros. Similar in character and effect to the Trinidad Reyes when that cigar was first launched back in 2003. Available in either boxes of 25 or 10 cigars or singularly.
The smallest cigar "Secretos" is particularly full bodied and quite a surprisingly strong cigar. The "Magicos" follows the recent trend for small pocket sized robustos and is similar to the the excellent Petit Edmundo in having an impressive 52 ring gauge. Whilst the "Genios" is full of complexity and typical Cohiba flavour and aroma previously seen in the Limited Edition Piramides. Slow Burning and generating a distinctive white ash all three new cigars may need more time to develop their full potential but are a delightful smoke whilst fresh from Cuba. RECOMMENDED.
