The marque was originally created in 1846 by Ramon Allones, a Spanish immigrant from Galicia.. He is credited with establishing the trend to decorate cigar boxes with colourful lithographs and originating the 8-9-8 form of packaging. Rolled in the Partagas factory the brand offers a commendably small range of cigars now essentially dissimilar to Partagas. The Gigantes and Specially Selected Robusto are to be recommended. During 2005, the British market is fortunate to have exclusive distribution of a Ramon Allones Belicosos. On trial or "test" for at least a year this entirely unique and classic Havana has a medium to full bodied strength and rich, earthy flavour / aroma very much to the English taste.
Ramon Allones Belicosos RE for UK/ Box of 25
Ref: 0355
5.58" Ring Gauge: 52
Habanos created this cigar exclusively for the British market given that we have a particular penchant for Ramón Allones with their rich, earthy, almost spicy blend. First created as far back as 1845, only four sizes now survive. So the advent of a Belicoso provided a particularly welcome event for connoisseurs here in the UK. Floral, herbal overtones aligned to a honey sweetness overlaid with a medium toasted tobacco taste characterise this cigar. Great complexity and yet balance between strength and flavour make this an exceptional Havana cigar.
