Petit Edmundo : ( 4.33 inches / 110mm x 52 ring gauge ). January marks the arrival of a new baby for Montecristo – the Petit Edmundo. Only an inch shorter than its big brother yet sporting an imposing 52 ring gauge this pocket robusto has been launched with half an eye on the fact that many devotees of this best selling Cuban brand will not have as much time to enjoy cigars once the forthcoming ban on smoking in public places becomes a reality. A short “big” smoke more akin in taste and effect to the classic No. 2 torpedo than its namesake, the newcomer is certainly a class act. I managed to consume over half its length before the beautifully ribbed ash finally fell into an ashtray. No combustion problems here and an impressive debut for such a small cigar. Recommended for fans of Montecristo. - Submitted by 'El Habanero' on May, 2007

Montecristo No 2: ( 6.18 inches / mm x 52 ring gauge ) A classic in its own right. Ever since the brand was launched back in 1935 the No.2 has been the Torpedo by which we measure all others. Furthermore it is fair to say that this cigar eclipses all other Montecristos. No where else is the typically bitter, tangy taste and heavy presence of bean flavours like cocoa, coffee and vanilla so well balanced. The late Lord Grade, film tycoon and mogul, was one of its biggest fans. Upon his retirement importers Hunters & Frankau presented him with an exact replica of a box of No.2’s fashioned from solid silver in gratitude for his unstinting devotion and copious consumption of what for many is regarded as the best torpedo. - Submitted by 'El Habanero' on May, 2007

Montecristo Robusto Edición Limitada 2006: The original 2001 cigar was somewhat nondescript in comparison. However the new, 2006 model really delivers. A delightful smoke that subtly combines the distinctive, traditional tangy/bitter taste of Montecristo with a richer, more complex flavour. Good combustion with just the right amount of strength make this cigar a real treat if you are a Montecristo fan. Recommended. - Submitted by London Cigar Man on October, 2006

Montecristo No.2: In May, my grandfather presented me with the last cigar from in his humidor...a 1960 Montecristo #2.  It was a gift upon receiving my teaching license; the last bit of uni I needed to teach Theatre to teenagers.
I thought it was a bit stout until I smoked the first 10nth of the cigar.  The most noticeable flavor early on was a slight bit of black pepper.  As I continued, it settled down into a very nice cigar.   The pepper faded into a slightly stronger tobacco flavor than I have been accustomed to for a M/C #2.  I still prefer a five or or six year old S.L. Rey.  I could not taste even a molecule of tannin...the effects of time and attention were obvious.  I still have my last SL Rey Serie A (a 1997, I have kept separate from the others) awaiting the perfect moment. - Submitted by David Poskey July 18, 2006

Edmundo: I was very excited about trying this cigar, however was left wanting. The Edmundo lacks the finesse of the Trinidad Robusto Extra, or the power of Cohiba's Siglo VI. A real oppurtunity missed by Montecristo, and both the Edmundo's I tried had wrappers that split halfway during smoking. - Submitted by Matthew Hampton August 20, 2005

Edmundo:Yes, I was lucky enough to get a beautiful box of Edmundo's. Deep dark wrappers and a powerful smoke that should age beautifully. But I have also had my share of Montecristo's that do not quite live up to what we should expect from this brand. - Submitted by Chris The Builder on March 23, 2005

Edmundo: This cigar is quite a sight to behold, beautiful wrapper, ring and heft. Pre-light aroma is promising. Once lit it is pleasantly medium bodied but taste-wise ultimately a little flat, lacking in complexity and really not tasting of anything in particular. Not quite ready to give up on them though as I find the format to be appealing. Will let the remainder rest for a while in my humidor and we\'ll see. - Submitted by Graham on March 20, 2005
