Created in 1966 for President Fidel Castro and produced at the once-secret El Laguito factory, Cohiba cigars were initially reserved as diplomatic gifts before becoming Cuba’s premier Havana brand.

Named after the Taino word for tobacco, Cohiba are known for their smooth, distinctive taste, thanks to an extra year of fermentation, and are offered in the robust Linea Clasica and the milder Linea 1492 (Siglo series), launched in 1992 to mark five centuries since Columbus discovered tobacco. The Siglo VI, is hailed as one of Cuba’s finest recent cigars.
