Last Saturday, the Cigars Unlimited sampling lounge in Fulham transformed into a fiesta of flavour as guests gathered for one of the most exciting pairing events in recent memory — a Mexican-themed evening celebrating the extraordinary Casa 1910 cigar range alongside the smooth, premium Mata de Monte Tequila.

From 3pm to 8pm, cigar enthusiasts and spirits connoisseurs alike came together to experience something truly special. The atmosphere was electric, the aromas intoxicating, and the company — as ever — outstanding.

A Cigar Brand Born from Revolution
The star of the evening was undoubtedly Casa 1910, a contemporary premium cigar house that wears its Mexican heritage with enormous pride. Launched in 2021, the brand draws its identity from the Mexican Revolution, naming its collections after pivotal battles, figures, and stories from that defining chapter in history. The tobacco itself hails from the San Andrés Valley in Veracruz — a region of fertile volcanic soils that produces some of the most prized wrapper and filler leaves in the world.
Guests were treated to two exceptional smokes from the Casa 1910 range. First, the Revolutionary Edition Tierra Blanca Toro — a powerful, characterful cigar that lived up to its revolutionary name. Then came the Soldadera Edition Ángela Toro, a tribute to the fearless women of the Mexican Revolution, delivering its own complex and rewarding experience. Both cigars were presented in the Toro format, giving plenty of smoking time to savour every nuance of flavour.

The Perfect Pairing
No Mexican celebration is complete without tequila, and Mata de Monte delivered in spectacular fashion. This premium spirit — with an RRP of £60 a bottle — proved to be a natural companion to the rich, earthy notes of the Casa 1910 cigars. The interplay between the two was nothing short of magical, each sip and each draw enhancing the other in a way that reminded everyone present why the art of pairing matters so much.
And in true Cigars Unlimited style, every guest got to take a full bottle home.
