The Montecristo Línea 1935 comprises of three vitolas or sizes presented in an innovative and distinctive new box design with an elegant Carmelite lacquer finish and bevelled edges. The traditional brown Montecristo band on each cigar is complimented by a separate gold ” Linea 1935 ” band stating the vitola or size. But for the first time each cigar is adorned with a third complimentary base band with a traditional gold fleur-de-lis that has distinguished the Montecristo brand since its inception. Very smart ….The Línea 1935 line offers three premium cigars, two of which are unprecedented in the Habanos portfolio: Maltés (6″ (153 mm) x 53) and Dumas (5¼ (130 mm) x 49), while Leyenda (6½ (165 mm) x 55) is identical to the special limited edition Montecristo 80th Aniversario, launched in 2015 to commemorate the brand's 80th Anniversary.Legend has it that the classic Montecristo No.2 was used to launch the Montecristo brand at the Alfred Dunhill shop in New York City back in 1935 hence the name chosen to identify this new range of premium full strength cigars.Montecristo is the best known and, perhaps, the most appreciated Habanos brand and is considered by many to be the benchmark for Habanos flavour. Its name had its origins in the novel The Count of Montecristo, by Alexandre Dumas, enormously popular with cigar rollers at the H.
