Partagas Lusitania Gran Reserva 2007 has arrived !!

London England, December 16th, The term Gran Reserva applies only to Habanos whose fillers, binders and wrappers have all been aged for at least 5 years prior to rolling. In addition, only the “best of the best” leaves from Vuelta Abajo, the finest tobacco growing zone in Cuba and arguably the world, are chosen to undergo the lengthy ageing process to ensure that the final product when smoked will offer a unique balanced blend of rich flavours and mature aromas. The first Gran Reserva was released in 2009 using tobaccos harvested in 2003 (Cosecha 2003). The size selected was the iconic Cohiba Siglo VI. Then in 2011, a second iconic vitola was chosen and the Montescristo No.2 Gran Reserva was released using tobacco harvested in 2005. Now in 2013, a third release has arrived and is perhaps the most iconic cigar to date to be honoured as a Gran Reserva: Partagas Lusitania, Cosecha 2007. The Partagas Lusitania is a Prominente (Double Corona) and measures 7 5/8 inches x 49 ring gauge. The Lusitania has been the most popular cigar of its size over the last four decades and continues to be sought after by connoisseurs and collectors, even though modern trends are for stouter cigars. Like its predecessors, the Gran Reserva Lusitanias are presented in beautiful lacquered boxes which hold 15 double banded cigars. Each box is numbered and there is very limited supply as only 5,000 boxes (75,000 cigars) are produced in total for the global market.
